Church and Sunday School

Happy Mother's Day! It is Sunday which means we spent much of the day at Jay's house of worship, the New Georgia Baptist Church. For the first half of our visit, we took in the service, sitting in the front pews. The choir sang, the pastor sermonized, announcements were made, a plea was made for donations. It was a great experience. As new guests of the church, Tim, LouElla and I stood up and were introduced to the congregation. Lou was not looking forward to this, Jay told her it was coming. But at the right time, in her colorful African dress, she stood and graciously introduced herself to the room.

The second half of the day was Sunday School. The younger children gathered in a room in a side building for songs and stories. The older children gathered in an adjoining room. Their teacher was Jay. His was a very well done sermon on learning, education, Study Technology and their future. He wove it all together perfectly, hitting all the right notes with the youth in attendance.

Welcome!

Signing off from Paynesville Junction, Liberia. Keep those donations coming. We have one week left and are closing in on having the entire venture fully funded.
