Rendezous Points

As I type this I am sitting at gate B35 at JFK. It is 2:56 pm. Lou and I just arrived from Tampa. Delta flight 420 departs from this gate at 5:46 pm bound for Accra.
Tampa International. NYC here we come.
We are at rendezvous point #2: where LouElla and I will meet Tim who is flying in from LAX.

Rendezvous point #1 was me meeting LouElla at Tampa International at 5:45 this morning. LouElla is on day two of her six-flight itinerary. Her first flight left PDX (Portland) at 6:20 pm yesterday.

Our JFK to Accra flight is ten hours over the Atlantic. We'll fall asleep in New York and wake up in Africa. (I hope we sleep really well.)

And that will bring us to rendezvous #3: Tim, Colin, and LouElla meet up with Jay.

What's ahead? Here's a rough sketch of the next two weeks:

May 7 & 8: Travel days. Our feet touch Liberian soil at 4:45 pm local time on the 8th.

May 9 - 11: Study Tech and literacy presentations to 120 teens and 20s in the city of Kakata in Margibi County. We'll also do local radio interviews.

May 12 & 13: Meetings in the capital city of Monrovia with educators and policy-makers. Sunday we'll visit New Georgia Baptist Church.

May 14: Study Tech workshops for teachers, educators, and administrators in Kakata.

May 15: Educators and community leader conference on the future of Liberian education in Kakata. More meetings with opinion leaders. Secure year round Applied Scholastics learning center office in Kakata to serve as the country's anchor.

May 16 - 19: Meetings in Monrovia, to include Ministry of Youth and Sports, AME University, and Methodist University. Arrange to send a group of Liberian educators to Applied Scholastics' Spanish Lake campus in the summer for training.

May 20: New Georgia Baptist Church and travel day. Back to the USA!
